Global Learning in Agriculture Conference

1/16/2021

The GLAG21 Conference is less than a month away...  Don't miss out on its many offerings -- including GLAGJr's focus on secondary student and 4-Hers described below.

In 2021, GLAGjr includes the following features:

1. Six Virtual Global Agriculture Learning Modules
Using Articulate 360 as our primary platform, this year’s GLAGjr program will feature 6 interactive modules that will allow students to connect with classrooms from across the globe. These modules include:

Fundamental Modules:
·       What is Food Security?
·       What is Global Competency?
·       What are the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals?

Grand Challenges/Wicked Issues Modules:
·       Water Management (SDG 6)
·       Partnerships for Peace (SDG 16)

Thematic Module:
·       Taking Action

2. Opportunity for Students to earn Digital Badges
A new feature of GLAGjr, students are now able to earn up to 6 digital badges by completing GLAGjr modules. Students will be able to display these badges on future resumes and portfolios.  There is a minimum number of badges each team needs to earn to submit for the local grant funding (described in #3).

3. Grant Funding to turn Modules into Moments
Sponsored in part by our friends at Corteva Agriscience, our GLAGjr Grant Program sponsors youth agricultural groups with grants of $500 to translate their learning through modules into impactful community moments. These grants directly go towards groups who will plan and complete a project that will increase global competency in their local in the year 2021.  Each registered GLAG21 educator can have 1 group submit and participate in a pitch process! Each group that submits must document completion of 15 different digital badges from the GLAGjr curriculum

4. GTAN Program Support
From the program launch date on February 18th until June 1st, the Global Teach Ag Interns will provide program support and coaching for educators. Our team is here to support you in any way we can be successful with your learners as they explore global issues in food, fiber, and natural resources

GLAGjr Registration will close on Wednesday, February 17th at 11:59 P.M. EST. Programming will start with modules being released to all GLAGjr educators on Thursday, February 18th.

So, First, make sure you are registered for
#GLAG21

Second, sign-up for GLAGjr!
