Poetry X Hunger and Food Justice

A panel of creatives met by Zoom on June 12, 2024 to discuss the future of the Arts in addressing food justice. Lots of good ideas about a very timely topic!

Organized by Aly Maier Lokuta of The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the panel was emceed by Triada Stampas of Fulfill and included Hiram Larew of Poetry X Hunger. Other panelists were poet Elisabet Velaquez, Lindsay Erben of the Art Institute of Middlesex County (New Jersey, USA), and Carolina Moratti of Cooking Outside the Box.

Pendemics Journal's HUNGER Issue

Editor Emily Ferrara has published a pretty amazing Spring/Summer 2024 issue of Pendemics Journal from the Global Quarantine Museum. All of the poems and art included in the issue are focused on fighting hunger.

Liminal Spaces Supports Poetry X Hunger

Wow. A collection of poetry-infused art titled Liminal Spaces has been published by The Arts Lab of South County (Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA).

This vibrantly presented, 89-page anthology includes poems by those who participated in the Lab's year-long Words on Thirds poetry workshop. Poets collaborated with Lab-affiliated visual artists to co-create a wide range of expressive works -- all of which are showcased in the collection.

Poet/Artist Nancy Murray directed the workshop and edited the collection.

And to add to the excitement...A portion of the collection's sales will benefit Poetry X Hunger in the fight against hunger. Yes!
